Man Goes to Work and Forgets Phone at Home, Wife Hears His Voice Mail where Boy Says ‘Hi Dad’ – Story of the Day

Amanda’s Discovery: The Hidden Truth About Alex’s Double Life

Alex forgot his phone at home on his way to work, and his wife, Amanda, accidentally heard a voicemail that turned her world upside down. The message, left by a strange boy calling Alex “Dad,” planted a seed of suspicion in Amanda’s heart. Could Alex be hiding something more than a simple affair? Her intuition screamed yes, and she soon found out the truth ran much deeper than she had anticipated. Amanda decided she would stop at nothing to ensure Alex got what he deserved.

An Innocent Mistake…Or Was It?

“Alex, you’re forgetting something!” Amanda called out to her husband as he headed for the front door.

“Oh, god. Thanks, babe. What would I do without you?” He kissed her cheek and grabbed his wallet. “Sorry for the rushed morning, but I’ll try to finish early so we can spend some quality time together later.”

After Alex left, Amanda went about her daily chores before finally collapsing on the sofa for a well-deserved break. She was watching TV when she heard Alex’s ringtone coming from the couch. She reached under the cushions and found Alex’s phone.

A glance at the caller ID showed an unknown number. Amanda was about to answer when it went to voicemail, and that’s when she heard a small boy’s voice, “Hi, Dad! I know you must be on your way, but I wanted to say I’m waiting for you! Please come soon!”

“Dad?” Amanda froze, chills running down her spine as she replayed the message in her mind.

The Unraveling of Secrets

With no password to unlock Alex’s phone, Amanda couldn’t call the unknown number back. Her heart sank with suspicion—had Alex been unfaithful? She decided to call Alex’s assistant, Jerry, in hopes of clearing her doubts.

“Hello, Jerry. This is Amanda. Has Mr. Gibbs arrived yet?” she asked.

“I think there’s some misunderstanding, Mrs. Gibbs,” Jerry replied. “Mr. Gibbs isn’t in today. I’m covering the meetings for him.”

Amanda’s heart dropped, but she managed to keep her composure. When the call ended, she buried her face in her hands. She loved Alex and wanted to trust him, but the voicemail, along with Alex’s absence from work, suggested otherwise.

Suddenly, Amanda heard the sound of tires on the gravel outside. The front door clicked open, and Alex rushed inside, asking, “Honey, have you seen my phone?”

A Calculated Move

Amanda’s blood was boiling, but she knew if Alex was really hiding something, confronting him immediately might only alert him. Instead, she forced a smile, hiding his phone behind her back. “I’ll check the bedroom!” she said, disappearing momentarily before returning with his phone.

“Thanks, babe!” Alex said, giving her a quick kiss before dashing out again. Amanda walked him to his car, and as he drove off, she secretly dropped her fitness band with an activated GPS into his car door pocket.

Amanda waited a few moments before following him. At first, Alex’s route seemed routine, heading toward his office. Amanda was starting to feel guilty for doubting him until, suddenly, Alex made a sharp turn, heading in the opposite direction.

The Unwanted Truth

Twenty minutes later, Alex parked in front of a modest house, far from their home. Amanda pulled over and watched as Alex retrieved a gift box from his trunk. He knocked on the door, and when it opened, her worst fears were confirmed—he scooped a little boy into his arms.

Amanda’s heart raced as she followed Alex to the neighboring house. She watched through the living room window as Alex hugged and kissed the boy on the cheek. Unable to contain her anger, she barged in.

“What’s going on, Alex? Who is this child?” she demanded.

The boy looked up at Alex and asked, “Daddy, who’s she?”

Amanda glared at Alex. “Why is this boy calling you Daddy? Don’t even try to lie—I saw everything!”

After sending the boy into another room, Alex turned to Amanda, defeated. “He’s my son, Amanda. I should have told you, but I was scared. I have a second family.”

Amanda stood there, her world crashing down as Alex admitted he had been living a double life for four years.

The Betrayal Runs Deep

Back at home, Amanda couldn’t hold back her tears. With a bottle of wine in hand, she slumped into her bedroom, trying to make sense of everything. Her teenage son, Dylan, soon joined her, noticing her distress.

“What’s wrong, Mom?” he asked gently.

“Your dad cheated on me,” Amanda sobbed, taking a long gulp of wine.

“Mom, I’m so sorry. I should’ve told you before.”

Amanda choked on her drink. “Told me before? What do you mean, Dylan?”

“Dad…he told me about his other family,” Dylan confessed.

Amanda’s heart broke all over again. “You knew?” she yelled. “You knew, and you didn’t tell me?!”

“I was trying to protect you, Mom,” Dylan insisted. “I love you.”

But Amanda couldn’t see past her feelings of betrayal. “You should’ve told me! I don’t want to see you right now! Get out!”

Dylan stormed out, leaving Amanda more determined than ever to make Alex pay.

A Desperate Plan

Consumed by anger, Amanda decided to pay Alex back in the worst way imaginable. She drove to his office, sweet-talked her way past his assistant, and began rummaging through his files. Her attention was drawn to a small safe in the corner of his office. After several failed attempts, she successfully unlocked it using Dylan’s birthdate. Inside, she found papers proving Alex had evaded taxes.

Later that day, she called Alex. “I went through the safe in your office. If you don’t leave your second family, I’ll make sure you go to jail,” she threatened.

Alex rushed home in a panic, only to be met with Amanda’s cold stare as she held the incriminating documents. “If you don’t come back to me, I’ll take these to the cops. Leave them, or you’ll rot in prison.”

The Final Blow

Unbeknownst to Amanda, Dylan had overheard the entire conversation. He couldn’t believe his mother would blackmail his father over something that had saved his life.

“Mom! How could you? You’re only alive because of Dad! You’re disgusting!” Dylan screamed as he stormed out of the house again.

Alex, too, was done. “Do whatever you want, Amanda,” he said. “I’ll never come back to you.”

Devastated by her son’s rejection, Amanda’s thoughts grew darker. She decided there was only one way out: she would hire a hitman to get rid of Alex.

A Deadly Mistake

Amanda visited an old acquaintance at a casino, asking him to connect her with someone who could “take care” of Alex. Days later, she met with the hitman at a park, handing him a bag of cash and giving him strict instructions to make Alex’s death look like an accident.

But before the deal could be finalized, the hitman revealed himself as an undercover cop. Amanda was arrested on the spot, and as she was being handcuffed, she saw Dylan and Alex watching from a police car.

In disbelief, Alex shook his head. “You wanted revenge, Amanda. But all you’ve done is destroy what’s left of our family.”

As Amanda sat in the back of the police car, she lowered her head, avoiding Dylan’s tear-filled eyes. The realization of her actions weighed heavily on her—she had lost everything.
