A New Orleans restaurant is suing Gordon Ramsay after a video of him vomiting in their restaurant resurfaced on Facebook.
Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares has never really been known for its positive attitude to restaurants around the US.
Most of the time, the show consisted of Gordon bulldozing into restaurants and whipping the staff into shape, and if one thing is for sure, he didn’t exactly use a gentle approach.
The programme is a fan favourite, and despite it not being aired since 2023, clips still resurface on their social media accounts.
And a restaurant in New Orleans was not happy, after a video resurfaced on Facebook in 2018 depicting Gordon vomiting in their restaurant, after smelling a container filled with shrimp.

According to Oceana Grill, the clip was over-dramatised for the show, and it didn’t state that this happened seven years ago.
The video was taken from a season finale which aired in 2011, but was made available to watch on Facebook for 24 hours before it was taken down.
It was viewed by 1.5 million people, and Oceana Grill is now suing Gordon after they branded the clip misleading.
Gordon also filmed discovering three dead mice in the restaurant as part of the episode.
Cajun Conti, the company that owns Oceana Grill, have stated: “None of the above-described events were real, but were contrived and orchestrated by defendants to manufacture drama for their show.”
TV network Fox also reportedly broke an agreement they made with the restaurant, which said that the company would be paid $10,000 every time the Oceana Grill episode was aired in the future, and that any rerun of the episode would include an update about what the restaurant is doing now.

The lawsuit states that the show depicted the restaurant in a ‘negative light’, which in all fairness, was to be expected by taking part in a programme called Kitchen Nightmares.
The lawsuit reads: “During the episode’s filming, defendants went to great lengths to over-dramatise and even fabricate problems with the restaurant in order to increase ratings.
“The footage intentionally portrayed Oceana and its employees in a patently false and negative light, as it depicted the appealing restaurant as an unsuccessful, unsanitary and mismanaged restaurant.”
The clip now appears to be deleted from the Kitchen Nightmares page, and the restaurant is still thriving years later.

Brooklyn Beckham has been defended by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay after facing flack – once again – for his cooking skills.
If you’re being ridiculed over your skills in the kitchen, it can’t hurt to have a celebrity chef come to your aide, right?
Even though Brooklyn Beckham doesn’t officially work in a kitchen, he spends a lot of time cooking and coming up with his own recipes at home – something he shares on social media – as well as making TV appearances to share his love for food.
But not a lot of people are impressed, with Beckham constantly facing criticism and ridicule for his cooking skills.

However, a fellow potty-mouthed chef has decided to stick up for the 24-year-old, praising him for doing something he ‘enjoys’.
Last year, Beckham posted a Instagram video with celebrity chef Kevin Lee, showing how they would make the perfect Michelin star British Sunday roast.
Sadly, the video went viral for all the wrong reasons, with social media users remarking that the beef was simply ‘too raw’ and not thoroughly cooked.
“Bruh that ain’t cooked!!!! Buddy oliver come help the grown man out,” one user joked, while another added: “That joint is way too raw. Should be pink in the middle, not the whole joint.”
“A bit undercooked I’d give it another hour that roast would ruin Sunday dinner,” a third commented.
Despite the criticism, Gordon Ramsay – who is friends with Brooklyn’s parents David and Victoria Beckham – defended the clip.

“I haven’t seen the video of his supposedly ‘raw’ beef,” Ramsay recently told the Mail Online.
“But even as a 12-year-old, whilst playing football, Brooklyn was always excited about food. So I’m pleased that he’s gone down that road and he’s found something he really enjoys doing.”
He went on to add that he is ‘excited’ to have Beckham join the culinary world and clarified that he had no issue with his cooking.
He also defended the fact that Beckham will see significant pressure from having famous parents.
He continued: “It’s hard, isn’t it? Because he didn’t ask for that level of intrusion from having famous parents. It probably came off a certain way, but it’s not his fault.”
Beckham’s mom Victoria also defended her son in her own Instagram post, and insisted it had given her ‘inspiration for this Sunday’s roast’.

“I’ll be attempting this for your dad and brothers and sister,” she added as she re-posted the recipe to her page.
Despite the slew of critical comments, there were still some fans who supported Beckham, with many saying they loved the look of the meal.
“I thought it was gonna be super under cooked, but it’s literally pink. Like what fancy chefs aim for? A lot of people desperate to write a negative comment,” one user wrote.
“This is perfect well done. Ignore all the plebs with the it’s Raw comments. Let them eat shoe leather,” another joked.

The celebrity chef is only obliged to visit his Hell’s Kitchen restaurant once a year
Over the last 40+ years, Gordon Ramsay has worked his way up from a humble, trainee chef – working under culinary moguls like Marco Pierre White and Albert Roux – to a prolific cooking connoisseur and one of the world’s most renowned television stars.
With a multitude of self-owned restaurants scattered across the globe, and countless must-see TV series under his belt, this now 57-year-old father-of-six is also one of the highest earning celebrities of the 21st century.
His on-screen sensation Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares saw him changing the lives of promising yet hopeless entrepreneurs, whilst his f-bomb heavy hit Hell’s Kitchen saw talented Head Chefs battling it out to be given the lead role at one of his popular restaurants.
The latter has continued for 13 years after first kicking off in 2005, and has been such an on-screen success that Ramsay himself opened a legitimate fine-dining restaurant in Las Vegas.
This week, however, one social media star and TikTok expert has revealed that despite this popular Nevada eatery remaining in the British star’s name, Ramsay rarely visits the restaurant more than once a year.

What might come as a bigger surprise, however, is that the account The Vegaspaulyc Show – which goes by the username @casinocompwallet on the video-sharing app – told viewers that the celebrity chef is still paid 6% of all revenue that the restaurant makes.
This equates to just over $1million per year based on $17million sales.
Filming the colossal restaurant, @casinocompwallet told viewers: “This is Hell’s Kitchen, Las Vegas, which is controlled by Gordon Ramsay.
“And he has a deal to manage this Hell’s Kitchen for 10 years, and the reason we know all the details of the deal, is that in 2016-2017, Caesar’s Palace – which is right behind us, over here – was bankrupt.

“And when they went bankrupt, they had to get approval from the judge in order to get a new deal with Gordon Ramsay in order to save themselves some money.”
The TikTok user went on to explain: “So, the deal that they made – and is in the court documents – is Ramsay is required to appear once a year in Las Vegas and be at the resort for 24 hours.
“He must let Caesar’s Palace photograph him. It also stipulates that he can fly First Class or take a private jet and get three deluxe rooms during his stay.
“It doesn’t include his incidentals, but he gets a 30 per cent discount if he gets room service.”

Three years after appearing on Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares restaurant owner Joe Cerniglia tragically died.
The owner of the Italian restaurant, Campania, in New Jersey appeared on an episode of season one of the reality TV series.
At the time of filming, Cerniglia’s eatery was in huge debt and on the verge of shutting down.
The episode showed Cerniglia’s laid back approach to his business, something Ramsay seemingly wasn’t a fan of.
“Why did you decide to go into business if you haven’t got a clue how to run a business?” Ramsay questioned.
Cerniglia welled up after being asked the question and admitted to ‘feeling really upset’, to which Ramsay followed up with: “Are you feeling upset now?
“Thank f**k for that. Hopefully, I’m getting through to you now.”

Ramsay went on to say that without change Cerniglia’s restaurant was ‘about to f***ing swim down the Hudson’.
On the show, Cerniglia’s wife expressed her concern for her husband and the business, explaining how much stress it was causing him.
“People like us put everything on the line for a dream. If this business fails, we will lose everything,” she tearfully told Ramsay.
However, after a re-vamp of the menu and restaurant makeover, the business went on to be hugely successful.
After the first experience visiting Cerniglia’s restaurant, the TV chef went back a year later to check how the owner was getting on, to which he said the turnaround was ‘nothing short of a miracle’.
Cerniglia even won Chef Central’s Bergen County Ultimate Chef Competition in 2008 and came Runner Up in 2009.

However, in 2010, Cerniglia’s body was found floating in the Hudson river after jumping from the George Washington Bridge.
The New York Medical Examiner’s office ruled his death as suicide and said: “He died from drowning and blunt impact. He jumped from a height.”
After hearing of the heartbreaking news, Ramsay released a statement, saying: “I was fortunate to spend time with Joe during the first season of Kitchen Nightmares. Joe was a brilliant chef and our thoughts go out to his family, friends and staff.”

The debate over tips continues to heat up after a restaurant tried one sneaky tactic.
Tipping is normal for millions of Americans across the country. Some prefer to tip 15 percent, others 10, and some 5, if they are given the opportunity.
While tipping is a regular thing for Americans, people from other countries often question why it is such a big deal not to tip.
But one incident has seen the debate reignite after a restaurant appeared to try and trick guests into forking over money.
An image that has gone viral on social media has a lot of people talking about a restaurant that placed a sticker over the no tip option.

The image, shared on the mildlyinfuriating Reddit board has already racked up over 81,000 upvotes and more than 3,000 comments.
The picture shows a touch screen card reader with multiple options for tipping, including 13%, 15% and 18%. As well as this, there is a cash tipping option and another option to input your own percentage.
The third option, that is believed to be ‘no tip’ is covered by a sticker that reads ‘tip, thank you’.
The original poster, Reddit_Lemur did not give any more information about what restaurant it was or in what American state but the comments erupted all the same.

“Look them in the eye as you peel the thing off. Make a statement silently,” one user commented.
“You can reach out to their payment processors. They typically don’t allow such modifications on the hardware even if it is a simple sticker. It’s scummy practice,” another added
“I’m picking them stickers off while making eye contact with the cashier. Also never going back to that establishment,” commented a third.
