Boy didn’t stop kicking our seat during a very long Flight – Here’s what my dad did

Evelyn’s Flight Experience: A Lesson in Respect and Patience

Hi everyone, I’m Evelyn from Minnesota, and I have a story that will make you think twice before boarding a plane. My dad and I were on a flight from Alberta to Minneapolis, which started cozy but quickly became a nightmare due to an unruly boy and his inattentive parents.

The Kicking Begins

About 40 minutes into the flight, a ten-year-old boy started kicking my seat. I turned around and politely asked him to stop, thinking he got the message. But a few minutes later, the kicking resumed, more aggressively, hitting both my seat and my dad’s.

The Audacity of the Parents

My dad reclined his seat to stop the kicking, but the boy’s parents had the nerve to ask him to put it back up, claiming their son should “enjoy his flight too.” When my dad refused, the parents complained to the flight attendant, who stood by our right to recline.

The Flight Attendant’s Intervention

The boy’s father demanded action, causing a scene, but the flight crew sided with us. Eventually, the crew suggested the family move, as multiple complaints had been made about their son’s behavior.

Peace at Last

With the disruptive family moved to the back, the rest of the flight was peaceful. At baggage claim, they avoided eye contact, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction. My dad had taught a valuable lesson in respect and patience, one I’ll carry with me always.

This experience reminded me that standing up for yourself and being considerate of others makes all the difference, especially when traveling.
