We guess Matt Damon is not picking a side in his best friend Ben Affleck’s divorce from Jennifer Lopez!
On Friday, Matt and Jennifer attended the premiere of the film Unstoppable, which she stars and co-produces alongside the two pals, at the Toronto International Film Festival. The Gone Girl star was noticeably absent from the film festival, opting to stay in Los Angeles to work and hang out with his three kids instead. However, that was not a surprise since the singer filed for divorce from him last month after two years of marriage! The man did not want an awkward run-in with his ex at the event!
Even though we didn’t see an uncomfortable Bennifer reunion at the premiere, the whole thing was still quite eventful! And not just because J.Lo looked HAWT AF on the red carpet! A source told People on Saturday that Jennifer and Matt hung out and chatted for over 20 minutes at the afterparty at EPOCH Bar & Kitchen Terrace at The Ritz-Carlton. What! Jennifer reportedly was at a table outside the venue with his wife, Luciana Damon, and co-star Don Cheadle when he came over to sit with them. When the pair started talking, they got “deep!” The insider claimed:
“Jen and Matt began talking and had a long, deep conversation.”
What did Matt and Jen talk about? The source did not say other than noting that they laughed and spoke more seriously. Then, the duo reportedly clasped hands for several minutes as they spoke. Hmm. Perhaps their intense talk was about the divorce — or how she is a “bad picker” when it comes to men! LOLz! We’re kidding! Jennifer actually made that candid confession during a separate conversation with her co-star, Bobby Cannavale, the same night!
Unfortunately, as we mentioned, what Jennifer and Matt said is unknown. We would have loved to be a fly on the wall for the talk between them to find out, though! What do we know? It appears Matt is not choosing a team in the messy Bennifer divorce — meaning he is not cutting off J.Lo entirely, even though he has been friends with Ben for decades! Wonder how the Argo star feels about his bestie having “deep conversation” with his soon-to-be ex-wife!
