American reality star Kim Kardashian has disclosed that one of her sons has a hereditary autoimmune condition. The 3-year-old mother of four children—11-year-old North, 8-year-old Saint, 6-year-old Chicago, and 5-year-old Psalm—shared that her son has been diagnosed with vitiligo. Although she did not name the child, she mentioned that he is “under control.”
“This was inherited from my mom, and then I passed it on in a different form to my son, who has a very mild case of vitiligo. I didn’t know much about it, but understanding where it came from and that it was hereditary was very important.”
Kim, who also suffers from the skin condition psoriasis, noted that her children exhibit “slight eczema.” She has been battling this non-infectious autoimmune disease for about 30 years and is the only one of Kris Jenner’s six children to have inherited this condition. “I’ve tried everything. I’ve used special herbs, holistic approaches, a celery juice diet for six weeks, all kinds of topical creams, and various soaps—from natural to synthetic,” she said about managing flare-ups of her condition.
She even attempted to use her sister Kourtney Kardashian’s breast milk to soothe her itchy skin. Earlier this year, Kim detailed a “painful” flare-up on her leg in an Instagram Story: “I won’t lie—it’s painful. I don’t know what’s causing it. I haven’t changed my diet. I’ve tried everything! Psoriasis is the worst.”
Kim uses every possible method to care for her skin. Recently, she even underwent a procedure that is not well-regarded in the U.S.
